Red Wine Sangria with Dehydrated Lemons & Oranges

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Shiraz work well)

  • ½ cup brandy (optional but recommended)

  • 2–3 tbsp honey or brown sugar

  • 1 orange, sliced

  • ½ lemon, sliced

  • 4–6 dehydrated orange slices

  • 4–6 dehydrated lemon slices

  • 1 cup mixed berries (optional)

  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional for warmth)

  • 1–2 cups sparkling water or soda (to top)

  • Ice

  • Fresh mint for garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Mix the base
In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, and honey. Stir until sweetener dissolves.

  2. Add fruit & spice
Add fresh orange slices, lemon slices, berries, cinnamon stick, and your dehydrated citrus.

  3. Infuse
Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours (overnight is even better).
The dehydrated citrus will slowly rehydrate and intensify the flavour beautifully.

  4. Serve
Fill glasses with ice. Pour sangria over and top with a splash of sparkling water.

  5. Garnish
Add an extra dehydrated citrus slice on top for that elegant YUMi look.
